Comparison:
I still dream of a day when we will wake up, realize we hired a crocodile to "drain the swamp" and stop being surprised when he bites us.
In years past we were able to dream collectively and individually for things much more inspiring than avoiding crock bites. Sigh.
Context:
I miss the days when I could have a political discussion about ideology or political world view instead of trying to explain why a serial sexual predator who cheats on his wife like it's a sport, cheats his business partners, lies pathologically, has no respect for the rule of law, democracy or our Constitution and refuses to show anyone even a modicum of respect is not an ideal choice to lead our Country. Give me the good old days when we could argue about "big government" over small or personal accountability or how to protect personal freedoms, etc. I still dream of a day when we will wake up, realize we hired a crocodile to "drain the swamp" and stop being surprised when he bites us.
